Don't procrastinate, set a goal to pack a certain number of boxes per day. You will thank yourself on a moving day!

Label your cardboard boxes with content, room name, or "fragile" instructions with colored markers, so it will be a piece of cake to unpack in your new home!

Gather all your packing supplies moving boxes, packing tape, scissors, bubble wrap or paper towels, garbage bags, re-resealable bags (for furniture screws), wrapping/packing paper (newspaper can bleed ink onto your possessions), etc.

If you get the chance, pre-clean the kitchen and bathroom in your new home, so you can start using them immediately after you move in

Pack an overnight bag with all essentials if you are traveling a long distance, or staying in a hotel.

Be careful not to pack boxes that are too heavy – for you and your mover's sake. Additionally, pack the heavier items in smaller boxes, so it is easier to carry.
